The British Studies is an interdisciplinary programme, which aims:
To give students complex knowledge about the social environment and various developments in the UK, to develop the skills necessary for a successful carrier in the local and international public and non-public sectors, especially in the areas related to the UK.
To prepare graduates who have a thorough knowledge of British political, economic, legal and social systems as well as its history and cultural heritage.
To give graduates a thorough knowledge of research methods to conduct research independently.
To improve students’ English language proficiency and to develop their skills of translation, creative writing and adaptation.
Employment Opportunities and Continuing Education:
Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the educational programme, its graduate employment scope is wide and graduates can be employed in both public and non-public sectors that operate in the United Kingdom, as well as in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at embassies, in any sector involving cultural, political, economic or other types of relationship with the United Kingdom.
Graduates have the opportunity to continue their PhD studies, are subject to the prerequisites for admission to the relevant educational programme.
